Cupcakes With Sprinkles - DSFDF Challenge

This is a challenge offered on the Different Stroke From Different Folks blog. I had a problem with manipulating the hot wax to interpret the swirls in the icing. Other than that, I am very happy with the cupcakes.

I painted these crows about 2 years ago. At the time, I really wasn't happy with the painting, but I did keep the crows (I keep most everything... even the flops). The other day I was going through a stack of paintings and found this painting. I started to toss it, then I decided that I KINDA like this encaustic. So I am keeping them proudly.
